Technical Author 3 months initially (likely extensions) Manchester (1 days/week in the office) £660 per day, Inside IR35 Join a large-scale cloud transformation programme as a Technical Author, supporting the documentation and communication of a major AWS migration and cloud-native development initiative. We’re seeking someone passionate about creating clear, user-focused content and helping teams capture, organise, and share technical knowledge effectively. You will play a key role in shaping how engineers, operations, and product teams access and use information across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain clear, accurate, and engaging technical documentation in Confluence. Support teams migrating from on-premise infrastructure to AWS Cloud, as well as those building cloud-native services. Review and improve existing documentation to ensure it is current, accurate, and accessible. Design and implement effective taxonomy, metadata, and labelling structures for scalability and discoverability. Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product stakeholders to translate technical knowledge into accessible content. Contribute to tactical documentation improvement projects, using Jira to manage tasks and priorities. Essential Skills and Experience Several years’ experience as a Technical Author or Technical Writer. Proven experience creating and managing technical content in Confluence. Strong understanding of AWS Cloud services and architectures. Experience supporting cloud migration and cloud-native projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information. Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail. Hands-on experience with Jira for task tracking and backlog management. Desirable Skills Experience working on large-scale digital transformation or cloud adoption programmes. Background in IT infrastructure, DevOps, or cloud engineering. Familiarity with content governance and knowledge management best practices. Apply today for immediate consideration!
