Tax Director/Partner, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

Salary $220,000 – $500,000

We are looking for a Tax Director/Partner in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join our team at Anchin. This is a key leadership role where you’ll guide and support our clients on tax-related matters and M&A activities. In this role, you’ll work closely with various teams, offer strategic insights, and help ensure our clients are not only compliant with tax laws but also taking full advantage of opportunities in mergers and acquisitions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies that align with business goals to enhance tax efficiency.
  • Offer expert guidance on both domestic and international tax issues, including compliance, planning, and risk management.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and evaluate their impact on our organization and clients.
  • Lead and manage due diligence efforts for M&A transactions, identifying potential tax risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to structure deals in a tax-efficient way.
  • Provide strategic advice on post-merger integration and restructuring to maximize tax benefits.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering thoughtful tax planning and M&A advice.
  • Conduct client meetings and presentations, breaking down complex tax concepts into easy-to-understand information.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional support.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of tax professionals, helping them grow technically and professionally.
  • Promote a collaborative and innovative team culture that values knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, addressing inquiries, audits, and other compliance-related matters.
  • Monitor and report on the organization’s overall tax position, including risks and opportunities.
  • Identify and assess tax risks related to business activities and transactions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage risk and ensure compliance.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is required.

Experience:

  • At least 12 years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and M&A transactions.
  • A strong understanding of domestic and international tax laws and regulations.
  • A history of successful business development.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with a passion for motivating and developing a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide creative solutions.
