A leading global digital organisation is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join its Finance Data team on a 6-month contract.
This team plays a critical role in delivering accurate, timely financial data from multiple business systems into the company’s ERP platform and wider finance processes. The environment is highly collaborative, technically strong, and operates within strict regulatory and compliance frameworks.
What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and building backend APIs primarily using Java and Spring Boot.
• Working with Microsoft SQL Server and optimising complex SQL queries.
• Contributing to cloud-native deployments in AWS using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Supporting production systems, monitoring health metrics, and resolving incidents.
• Ensuring systems meet regulatory requirements (SOX, GDPR, etc.).
• Partnering with engineering, finance, and product stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of backend development experience in Java / Spring Boot.
• Strong SQL expertise (Microsoft SQL Server preferred).
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS), CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation.
• Exposure to SSIS or data integration tooling (desirable).
• Experience working in regulated or finance-related environments is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
