Salary Range: £65,000-90,000

Role Overview: As a Backend Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and developing robust backend services using TypeScript and Node.js. Your work will ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of our cutting-edge platform, which operates in a cloud-native environment on Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver robust backend services.
• Build scalable microservices using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Design and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs for seamless integration.
• Implement technical integrations with external systems, such as headless CMS and e-commerce platforms.
• Translate business requirements into technical architecture, documentation, and implementation.
• Support team members by providing feedback and sharing expertise.
• Advocate for internal standards to ensure maintainability, scalability, and high code quality.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines and embrace DevOps practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and bring innovative ideas to the team.

What You’ll Need:

• Proven experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with NoSQL and SQL databases.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including quality assurance, continuous integration/delivery, and automation.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
• A DevOps mindset, including experience with CI/CD tools and container orchestration.
