Senior Product Operations Specialist – SQL
We are supporting a global organisation.
6 Months – 40 hours per week- €75 per hour (excluding VAT)- Hybrid remote 2 days in the Amsterdam office per week
Job Summary
A Senior Product Operations Specialist is a valued contributor in driving and defining the day-to-day operational goals of one or more product and/or operations teams (or other relevant stakeholder groups).
The Sr. POS is a significant contributor to the business impact of the product through their efforts to identify, propose and drive operational innovation within their set scope, or between multiple teams or multiple business units and the product teams.
The Sr. POS works across two or more teams or; works on a product with impact across one or more stakeholder groups and is expected to work autonomously.
Key Responsibilities
-Fostering process improvement and innovation between all relevant business units via effective project management and enhanced product feedback loops.
-Identifying opportunities for automation or efficiency driving, and then lead or execute those initiatives.
-They are a strong collaborator within Product Management & Engineering and amplify the quality in and out of the track through their collaborative efforts.
-They are able to translate technical requirements to operational needs and vice versa.
-Providing deeper tech-level product support to operational teams and flight partners.
-Sr. POS is on occasion leading future feature development by enabling coordination and feedback loops with Product Teams.
-High focus on bug/issue investigations by identifying root cause and translating it into actionable insights for product and operational teams.
-Leads and innovates on new needed product support and process improvements. Is able to write high level business requirements to generate issues or ideas into Product requirements.
-Own, document and optimize billing, pay-out and accounting processes with our Flights Supplier Etraveli with the aim of full automation.
-Create, improve and streamline operational processes such as financial processes, incidents/bugs and escalations and force majeure processes, vendor PO’s.
-Owning bug reporting process between CS Operations, Product Ops and Flights Product Managers.
-Support implementation of process changes and improvements throughout Flights product, Etraveli and CS and payment teams.
-Supports all things payments (including new markets launches, Merchant of Record migrations, troubleshooting and resolving payment issues).
-Owns financial reporting and troubleshooting within the team, is able to gain deep understanding of internal processes and resolve issues in real time.
-Great written and verbal communications skills, with ability to communicate clearly and influence and persuade internal and external stakeholders in and outside of immediate scope.
Requirements of special knowledge/skills

-Good problem solving abilities, including operational and product and tech processes.
-Has previous experience working in a customer service or finance operation.
-Good process innovation skills (operational) and understands how to identify and monitor success metrics.
-Good experience working with Product & Tech teams: 2-3 years.
-Good knowledge of products, data infrastructure, front-end and back-end systems.
-Good knowledge of product development cycle and best practices: agile methodologies.
-Proficient analytical skills and is able to independently use Excel, MySQL, and BDX and other similar tools and has the ability to identify opportunities via diagnostic data analysis (‘why did it happen?’ – explore databases, fetch business relevant data points, and turn them into basic readable data sets, linked to business needs.
-Good interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain a network, flexible and a positive attitude.
-Self starter and resourceful attitude, is able to independently identify gaps, issues and new focus areas to work on.
-Can work both autonomously and as part of a team and is happy with ambiguity and changing of priorities.
-Creative thinking: able to quickly connect dots, often between an operational and product and tech perspective.
-High attention to detail whilst being able to zoom out and look at the bigger picture.
