Senior Finance Business Partner – 6 Month Contract – Amsterdam (Hybrid) – €115 per hour

We are supporting a global organisation in their search for an experienced Senior Business Controller to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-impact role with direct influence on business performance and strategic decision-making.

💶 Rate: Up to €115 per hour

About the Role As a Senior Business Controller, you will act as a trusted advisor and key influencer within the organisation, taking full ownership of the financial planning and control cycle for your business unit. You will partner closely with leadership teams to build and challenge Opex budgets (particularly staff costs), perform variance analyses on monthly close cycles, and provide meaningful, data-driven financial insights.

This is a hands-on, content-heavy role where you’ll be expected to deliver submissions and provide in-depth explanations of the numbers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive short- and long-term financial planning processes.
• Deliver detailed variance analysis and insightful financial reporting.
• Collaborate with leadership teams to build Opex budgets and challenge assumptions.
• Lead cost optimisation and efficiency projects across departments.
• Develop business cases to support key decision-making.
• Act as a proactive and strategic finance partner, influencing and challenging the business.
• Manage complex operational and financial topics with high accountability.

Must-Have Skills:

• Systems: SAP, OneStream, Anaplan
• Financial Tools: Advanced Excel modelling
• Strong financial planning, variance analysis, and reporting expertise
• Proven ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• 5–8 years’ advanced experience in financial planning and business control.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial drivers.
• Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, international environments.
• Comfortable addressing sensitive issues and setting ambitious targets.
• A natural collaborator and trusted advisor, able to build strong relationships across all levels.
