SAP Programme Manager

6 months initially – 37.5 hours per week – £76 Inside IR35 per hour – £570 Inside IR35 per day – travel to the London office 1 day per week for meetings

The client is seeking a quick start date, and the contract is expected to extend multiple times due to the programme duration.

Join our dynamic team as an SAP RISE Programme Manager and lead the critical migration of our financial systems from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. This strategic role offers the opportunity to drive large-scale digital transformation in a global organisation, ensuring seamless delivery, stakeholder alignment, and future-proof ERP modernisation. You will be at the forefront of shaping our technological evolution, working alongside top-tier partners and internal teams to deliver impactful results that enable our continued global leadership.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA RISE migration for the Trips Business Unit, overseeing phases from ‘Prepare’ through to ‘Deploy’ with a target go-live in 2027.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and SAP to align on outcomes, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage program risks, dependencies, and key decisions to ensure smooth execution and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Develop realistic, data-driven project roadmaps, track progress against objectives, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish transparent, efficient governance structures that uphold Booking.com’s standards and promote stakeholder accountability.

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of program management experience in digital organisations.
  • 3-5 years leading large-scale ERP or SAP transformations, with a track record of successful SAP S/4HANA migrations.
  • Strong vendor and partner management experience, including working with Big 4 consultancies and SAP.
  • Deep expertise in program lifecycle management, change management, and financial domain processes such as Order-to-Cash and Record-to-Report.
  • Excellent stakeholder influencing skills, able to coordinate across global, matrixed teams and leadership levels.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA RISE, SAP BTP, and MDG-F.
  • Experience in legacy modernisation strategies, including cloud migration or monolith-to-microservices architecture.
  • Background supporting change management efforts during large-scale system transitions.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience leading complex ERP projects in a global, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and processes within SAP environments.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as needed for stakeholder engagement and project milestones.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2) or SAP-related credentials are advantageous.
