People Operations Specialist (6-Month Contract – Amsterdam)
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Hybrid)
Rate: €45 per hour
Contract Duration: 6 months initial term

We are currently seeking a People Operations Specialist to support HR activities across the employee lifecycle – from onboarding to offboarding – ensuring a seamless and engaging employee experience. About the Role As a People Operations Specialist, you’ll be the first point of contact for employees and managers across the business, providing support on HR processes, employee data management, compliance, and policy queries. You’ll help ensure that all internal HR processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with Dutch labour law and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HR documentation and processes across the employee lifecycle (excluding recruitment).
- Maintain and update HR systems (Workday), ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
- Support payroll by preparing change reports and ensuring personnel changes are correctly documented.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal HR policies.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Advisory, Payroll, Recruitment) and external vendors.
- Troubleshoot employee issues, provide guidance, and maintain records in line with SOPs.
- Deliver timely and effective responses to HR-related tickets and queries.
- Support new hire onboarding and facilitate regional HR initiatives/events.
- Conduct audits and ensure high data integrity across systems and documents.
- Contribute to process improvement projects and support ongoing People initiatives.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar.
- 1+ years of HR experience within a global organisation, or 2+ years in a people-focused/data-processing role.
- Working knowledge of HR systems – Workday experience preferred.
- Strong written and spoken English; Dutch is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite; SAP experience is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of Dutch labour law is a plus.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritise and remain calm under pressure.
