Senior Machine Learning Scientist – Ads & Recommendation Systems

We’re partnering with a leading global digital platform to hire a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join their growing Ads Machine Learning team.
This is a unique opportunity to work on large-scale machine learning systems that directly impact how millions of users interact with online content and how partners compete and succeed within a marketplace.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering advanced machine learning solutions that power advertising systems, including bidding, ranking, and recommendation engines.
Working across engineering, product, and commercial teams, you’ll help shape how ads are served—balancing business performance with user experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build and deploy ML models that optimise ad performance and relevance
• Develop bidding and ranking algorithms for search and recommendation systems
• Translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions
• Lead end-to-end ML development from concept to production
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical best practices

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in Machine Learning within commercial environments
• Background in Ads, Recommender Systems, or E-commerce platforms
• Ability to bridge business and technical domains
• Experience leading projects or mentoring teams
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred)
• Experience working with large datasets and distributed systems

Nice to Have

• Deep Learning experience
• Experience with real-time ML systems
• Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in a quantitative field
