Integration SME – RMS Replacement Programme (Contract)

  • Location: Warwickshire (hybrid)
  • Rate: Negotiable (outside IR35)

A UK public sector organisation is delivering a major Records Management System (RMS) Replacement Programme, one of the most significant transformation initiatives undertaken in recent years. We are seeking an experienced Integration Subject Matter Expert to support the design and delivery of system integrations critical to operational service delivery.
This is a high-impact contract role within a fast-paced programme, with a clear delivery target and strong executive focus.
The Role You will be responsible for designing, delivering, and assuring integrations between a modern RMS platform and a range of internal and external systems. You will work closely with programme teams, suppliers, and technical stakeholders to ensure integrations are secure, resilient, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing integration landscapes and documentation
  • Define integration standards, patterns, and best practice
  • Design APIs, message-based, and batch integrations
  • Support real-time, near-real-time, and batch data flows
  • Collaborate with system suppliers on integration approaches
  • Design error handling, monitoring, and reconciliation
  • Ensure compliance with security and information assurance standards
  • Support integration testing, go-live, and stabilisation
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation and runbooks

About You You will bring:

  • Proven experience as an Integration SME or Architect
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns
  • Experience working in complex, multi-system environments
  • Solid knowledge of security, authentication, and data protection
  • Experience with integration platforms or middleware

Experience within policing, public sector, or justice environments is highly desirable, as is familiarity with records management systems.
Contract Details

  • 12-month contract (approx. 240 days)
  • Programme delivery through to go-live and stabilisation
  • UK-based engagement with flexible working arrangements
