Finance Operations Specialist (Contract)
Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite (Amsterdam)
Contract Length: 6 months (with possible extension)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Rate: Competitive hourly rate

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Operations Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations and contribute to process improvements and change initiatives within a large, international organisation.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of finance operational activities and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment. Responsibilities will be aligned to business priorities and may cover one or more specialist finance areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily finance operations accurately and in line with defined deadlines
  • Ensure financial processes are reliable, compliant, and well-controlled
  • Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business requirements
  • Support process improvements, automation, and operational change initiatives
  • Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects as required

Functional Areas (Depending on Assignment)

  • Billing and invoicing, including debit/credit notes and direct debits
  • Payments and financial operations process improvement
  • Accounts receivable, allocations, reconciliations, and month-end support
  • Travel and expense administration and policy compliance
  • Corporate credit card administration and reporting
  • Procure-to-Pay (P2P), including AP, controls, vendor master data, and procurement support

Skills & Experience 

  • Experience in finance operations, accounting, shared services, or financial processing
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working with finance systems (e.g. SAP, Concur, SQL, or similar)
  • Ability to analyse data, identify discrepancies, and drive resolution
  • Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused, service-oriented mindset
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management capability
  • Proven team player within cross-functional and international environments
  • Experience working in or supporting global, multicultural teams
  • Awareness of different cultures, working styles, and time zones
