Data Engineer (Data Quality)

• Location: Hybrid (2 days/week)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract: 12 months (possible extensions)
• Rate: €90 per hour (40 hours/week)

Overview
We are working with a leading global organisation within the FinTech space who are looking to hire a Data Engineer to support critical data quality initiatives across their payment data platform.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale, real-time data pipelines and gain exposure to modern data technologies and AI-driven tooling.

The Role
You will join a team responsible for processing and distributing payment lifecycle data across multiple systems, supporting both financial reporting and business analytics.
The primary focus of this role is to improve data quality, ensuring issues are identified and resolved earlier in the data pipeline.
Key responsibilities include:

• Implementing data quality checks and controls within data pipelines
• Working closely with finance and accounting teams to understand data issues
• Supporting early detection and resolution of data inconsistencies
• Contributing to improvements in data reliability and accuracy
• Leveraging internal tools and AI-assisted solutions to enhance productivity

Technology Stack You will work with a modern data stack including:

• SQL (essential)
• Java
• Kafka
• Snowflake
• Airflow

Nice to have:

• PySpark
• Exposure to data engineering concepts and pipelines
• Experience or interest in using AI tools to support development

Candidate Profile

• Strong SQL skills
• Interest in data engineering and data quality
• Eagerness to learn and adopt new tools, including AI
• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
