Accounts Payable Manager
We are supporting a global organisation.
6 months initial contract, with expected extensions– 37.5 hours per week – £50 Inside IR35 per hour – £375 Inside IR35 per day – 2 days per week in the Manchester office
Are you a motivated finance professional with a passion for leading high-performing teams and optimizing payments operations? We are seeking an experienced AP Manager to oversee and inspire our Payments Operations team, driving strategic initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence. This key leadership role offers the opportunity to shape financial processes in a dynamic environment, partnering closely with stakeholders across the organization to deliver impactful results.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and develop a talented team of Payments Analysts and Accountants, translating company goals into clear objectives.
- Ensure timely and accurate achievement of KPIs and SLAs aligned with business needs.
- Establish and maintain a robust reporting framework that supports decision-making, compliance, and process improvements.
- Oversee monthly review of business controls, including SOx compliance.
- Support cross-functional projects, providing insights and process enhancements based on trends and variances.
- Collaborate with product teams to understand product developments affecting payments.
- Drive team performance through regular reviews, monitoring workloads, and fostering a motivating environment.
- Coordinate with senior management and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and objectives.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in finance, payments, or accounting roles.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and produce insightful reports.
- Proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep understanding of finance processes, compliance, and control environment.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with financial reporting tools and data management.
- Knowledge of SOx controls and audit processes.
- Familiarity with payment systems and related technological tools.
- Multicultural awareness and ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive responsibility in finance or payments operations.
- Previous management experience leading teams in a complex, start-up or multinational environment.
