Travel Writer | Fully Remote

• Contract: 6 months initially, with potential extension
• Rate: €51 per hour
• Location: Fully Remote – work from anywhere globally
• Hours: Flexible, approximately 5–20 hours per week

We are working with a leading global travel technology company that is expanding its editorial team and looking to build a pool of experienced Content Writers to support the production of high-quality, human-first travel content.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced travel writer who has genuinely explored the destinations they write about and can turn first-hand experiences into engaging, useful and inspirational content for travellers.
The focus is firmly on quality over quantity. You’ll work on an assignment-by-assignment basis, with the volume of work varying according to editorial and business needs.

The Role
As a Content Writer, you will produce and edit travel content across a range of destinations, travel themes and audiences. Your responsibilities will include:

• Writing original destination stories based on your own first-hand travel experiences.
• Producing engaging B2C travel content from editorial briefs.
• Pitching relevant travel story and article ideas.
• Researching destinations, travel trends and topics.
• Reviewing, fact-checking and enriching AI-assisted content.
• Bringing genuine travel expertise and personal insight into content.
• Editing and proofreading content to an exceptionally high standard.
• Incorporating feedback and editorial revisions within agreed deadlines.
• Adapting your writing style for different audiences, destinations and tones of voice.
• Collaborating with editors and other content stakeholders.
• Managing multiple assignments and changing priorities.
• Ensuring content is accurate, helpful, engaging and aligned with editorial standards.

What We’re Looking For
The most important requirement is genuine first-hand travel experience combined with strong writing ability. You’ll ideally have:

• Around 3–5 years’ professional writing experience.
• A strong portfolio of published travel content.
• Experience writing for travel, lifestyle, B2C, media or editorial publications.
• Demonstrable first-hand experience of the destinations you write about.
• Excellent written English, with outstanding grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Strong storytelling skills and the ability to create engaging destination content.
• Experience working to deadlines and incorporating editorial feedback.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own assignments.

Flexible Working
This is a 100% remote opportunity, with no requirement to travel for work.
The role is deliberately designed to provide flexibility. Work is offered on an assignment-by-assignment basis, meaning there are no guaranteed fixed weekly hours.
Workload is expected to average around 20 hours per week, but can fluctuate between approximately 5 and 20 hours depending on business and editorial requirements.
This would suit an experienced travel writer who values flexibility and is comfortable adapting their availability to changing workloads.
