Senior Software Engineer (Java) – Contract Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on a contract basis. This role is focused on maintaining and improving backend systems that support large-scale, high-traffic platforms. This is a hands-on engineering position where you’ll contribute to core services, APIs, and infrastructure in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building and maintaining backend services using Java
• Working on API integrations with external partners
• Supporting and improving high-load production systems
• Troubleshooting and resolving live incidents
• Contributing to system design and architectural improvements
• Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with Java backend development
• Solid understanding of API design and distributed systems
• Experience working in high-traffic environments
• Familiarity with Spring Boot
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team

Bonus:

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud)

Working Setup

• 40 hours per week
• Hybrid model with 2 days onsite per week (Amsterdam)
