Legal Counsel (Netherlands)

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to be at the forefront of privacy and technology law in a dynamic, innovative environment. In this pivotal role within our Marketplace business unit, you’ll shape the legal frameworks that support our traveler-facing apps, personalization features, and AI initiatives, ensuring they adhere to the highest privacy standards. Your expertise will directly impact how we develop groundbreaking product features while safeguarding customer rights and building trust across our global platform.
 
Required Skills:

• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in top-tier law firms and/or major corporations, specializing in data protection, privacy compliance, and product counseling.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, DSA, AI Act, and their application in travel tech.
• Hands-on experience with consumer-facing technology, personalization tools, and enterprise systems.
• Legal qualification with a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree; CIPP/E or CIPT certification preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English and demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively.
• Ability to provide clear legal advice swiftly in complex, high-pressure situations.

 
Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with AI governance and emerging privacy frameworks.
• Familiarity with tracking technologies, consent management, and special category data processing.
• Project management expertise and a proactive problem-solving mindset.

 
Preferred Education and Experience:

• A legal professional qualification with extensive experience in privacy law in a fast-paced technology environment.
• Prior experience working with AI, personalization, and consumer tech products.
• Fluency in English, with excellent verbal, written, and listening skills.

 
Other Requirements:

• This role offers hybrid or fully remote work, with availability during Central European business hours.
• Candidates based in the Netherlands should provide proper proof of company registration, liability insurance, VAT registration, and confirm independent contractor status in compliance with local regulations.
• Engagement is contingent upon meeting all audit and compliance requirements prior to commencement.
