Job Title: End User Device (EUD) Build Engineer
Location: Multiple sites (travel required)
Contract: Contract / Temporary Assignment
Overview An organisation within a highly regulated public sector environment is seeking an End User Device (EUD) Build Engineer to support a large-scale laptop build and deployment programme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and configuring laptops to organisational standards, ensuring security policies and mandatory software are applied, and supporting the delivery of devices to deployment teams across various operational sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and configure laptops from new using the organisation’s standard imaging process.
- Apply corporate images, security policies, and mandatory software to all devices.
- Ensure devices meet internal IT security and compliance standards before deployment.
- Maintain and update the IT asset register to ensure accurate tracking of devices.
- Prepare devices for rollout and coordinate handover to deployment engineers.
- Transport laptops between sites and deliver them to designated deployment locations.
- Carry out device quality checks prior to deployment.
- Assist with troubleshooting basic build or configuration issues where required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in End User Device (EUD) engineering, desktop support, or device deployment roles.
- Strong experience with laptop build and imaging processes.
- Knowledge of Windows operating system builds and enterprise device configuration.
- Experience applying security policies, system updates, and standardised applications.
- Experience maintaining IT asset management systems or asset registers.
- Ability to work independently while supporting wider deployment teams.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel between multiple operational locations.
- Comfortable transporting IT equipment between sites (vehicle provided).
- Full UK driving licence required.
