Software Engineer – Perl and Java

From the Hiring Manager: will work on both Perl and Java, cron and mysql databases

6 months – 40 hours per week – 100 EUR per hour (Independent Contractor – OUTSIDE IR35) – fully remote

(800 EUR per day)

In this position, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality, scalable applications, ensuring system reliability, and guiding architectural decisions that shape our technological landscape. Your expertise will help deliver seamless user experiences and maintain the high standards of security and performance our users expect.

Required Skills:

Proficiency in building software applications using relevant development languages (Pearl, Java)
Experience in end-to-end system ownership, including deployment, monitoring, and operational management
Strong knowledge of software systems design and architectural guidance
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents effectively
Critical thinking skills to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions
Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders
Capable of refactoring code with design patterns and implementing test automation strategies

Nice to Have Skills:

Experience with cron jobs and MySQL databases
Knowledge of continuous delivery frameworks and experimentation tools
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and automation tools
Prior experience in technical leadership roles

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
3+ years of relevant experience in software development and system design
Proven track record of managing complex projects and implementing scalable solutions

Other Requirements:

Willingness to participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability
Commitment to adhering to security standards, data integrity, and quality assurance practices
