Data Engineer – TBU Cars

As the Data Engineer – Trips Business Unit, you will play a pivotal role in transforming travel technology through innovative data solutions. Join our dynamic team within the Trips Business Unit and help us build a robust, scalable, and high-performance data platform that drives our mission to connect travelers with the best transport options worldwide. Your expertise will enable seamless access to quality data, empowering analytics, and contributing to the future of travel.
Required Skills:

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience designing and building large-scale data pipelines in distributed environments
• Proficiency with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark (or Python), and DBT
• Strong data modeling skills, including Dimensional and Data Vault techniques
• Extensive knowledge of data governance, quality, lineage, and monitoring practices
• Solid understanding of security principles and secure coding practices
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Familiarity with analytics and machine learning concepts
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Passion for automation, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Agile methodologies

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with data cataloging and lifecycle management
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices
• Leadership experience in coaching and mentoring team members
• Experience with data retention policies and compliance standards
• Proficiency in Python or other programming languages used in data engineering

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Appropriate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Proven track record in building and maintaining large, well-governed data systems
• Relevant certifications in cloud computing or data engineering are a plus
