Lead DevOps Engineer (Contract, 6 months, Cardiff Hybrid) Contract: 6 months | Location: Cardiff (Hybrid) | Rate: £550–£640 per day | Start: ASAP
We are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join a dynamic technical team, leading a group of 5 engineers in the delivery, stability, and security of a critical analytics platform. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on automation, CI/CD, and platform optimisation.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and mentoring a small DevOps team
- Overseeing Windows/Linux server and SQL infrastructure
- Enhancing deployment pipelines and automating DevOps processes
- Acting as the primary escalation point for production support
Essential:
- Senior DevOps experience with team leadership
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL expertise
- Windows and Linux administration skills
- CI/CD pipeline and automation experience
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable:
- Scripting (PowerShell/Bash), Active Directory, enterprise networking, Octopus Deploy
- .NET service administration and vendor management
