Finance Operations Specialist – Legal Collections
The Role We are seeking a Finance Operations Specialist to support legal collections and credit control operations within a global finance function. This role focuses on operational support for external collection agencies, data-driven process improvements, reporting, and stakeholder management across international teams.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient legal collection operations, managing escalations, supporting audits, and driving automation and process optimisation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and improve day-to-day legal collection operations
- Manage inbound communication, operational reporting, and escalations with external collection agencies
- Analyse collection agency performance and recommend strategies to manage risk and write-offs
- Review and maintain legal collections portfolios, ensuring receivables ageing remains within agreed parameters
- Perform internal and SOX control activities
- Identify trends and insights from data to support Credit Control decision-making
- Validate and prepare reports from internal and external data sources
- Act as a key operational contact for Credit Control teams, resolving issues and escalating where necessary
- Support legal collections projects, training activities, and strategic initiatives
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve scalability through process improvement and automation
- Operate effectively within global teams and with international stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance operations, collections, or credit control
- Advanced Excel skills; strong working knowledge of Google Docs, Word, and Visio
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills; able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused, service-oriented mindset
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working in an international, multicultural environment
