 Business Development Manager (Field-Based)

  • Location: Field-Based (with regular travel)
  • Salary: 50k + Performance-Based Incentives

Are you a tenacious, results-driven professional with a passion for creating business opportunities? We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in Short-Term Management Contracts (SMCs). This is an exciting field-based role ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment.

About the Role
In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting opportunities into active SMCs. These are low-risk, fee-based service agreements. You’ll lead the proposal process, coordinate internal stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality, client-focused solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and manage a pipeline of business opportunities for short-term management contracts.
  • Achieve KPIs: 20 proposals per week with 10 successful SMC contracts per month.
  • Develop tailored proposals and solutions that meet client needs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional input from Commercial, Finance, Legal, Operations, and other departments.
  • Maintain and manage an up-to-date SMC proposal library.
  • Support the marketing team with the creation of compelling sales materials.
  • Track deal progress and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Ensure seamless handovers to delivery and customer service teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally in a service-based or commercial environment.
  • Strong negotiation and proposal writing skills.
  • Experience managing short-term or service contracts from inception to close.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and professionalism.
  • Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments.
