Business Development Manager (Field-Based)
- Location: Field-Based (with regular travel)
- Salary: 50k + Performance-Based Incentives
Are you a tenacious, results-driven professional with a passion for creating business opportunities? We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in Short-Term Management Contracts (SMCs). This is an exciting field-based role ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment.
About the Role
In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and converting opportunities into active SMCs. These are low-risk, fee-based service agreements. You’ll lead the proposal process, coordinate internal stakeholders, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality, client-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and manage a pipeline of business opportunities for short-term management contracts.
- Achieve KPIs: 20 proposals per week with 10 successful SMC contracts per month.
- Develop tailored proposals and solutions that meet client needs.
- Coordinate cross-functional input from Commercial, Finance, Legal, Operations, and other departments.
- Maintain and manage an up-to-date SMC proposal library.
- Support the marketing team with the creation of compelling sales materials.
- Track deal progress and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Ensure seamless handovers to delivery and customer service teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally in a service-based or commercial environment.
- Strong negotiation and proposal writing skills.
- Experience managing short-term or service contracts from inception to close.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and professionalism.
- Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments.
