Global HRIS Manager (Workday)

Location United Kingdom or Europe 

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Global HRIS Manager with deep
expertise in Workday to lead and optimize our global HR technology landscape. 
This role will manage the Workday ecosystem across multiple countries, ensuring functionality, scalability, and alignment with our business goals. 
The ideal candidate is not only a Workday expert but also a strong communicator and process improver 
with a global mindset.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • System Maintenance:

Ensuring the HRIS is functioning correctly, performing regular maintenance, and troubleshooting technical issues.

  • Data Entry and Management:

Accurate and timely input of employee data into the system, ensuring data integrity and security.

  • Reporting and Analysis:

Generating reports on HR metrics, analyzing data to identify trends, and providing insights to management.

  • User Training and Support:

Providing training to employees and managers on how to use the HRIS, answering their questions, and offering ongoing support.

  • Compliance:

Ensuring the HRIS adheres to all relevant regulations and legal requirements.

  • System Enhancements:

Identifying opportunities for system improvements and collaborating with IT to implement new features or integrations. 
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong IT Skills: Proficiency in HRIS software and database management.
  • HR Knowledge: Understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for training and support.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with the HRIS.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively. 

  • Global Workday Ownership: Manage the administration, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of Workday modules including HCM, Absence, Compensation, Time Tracking, Talent, Recruiting, and especially Performance Management.
  • Global Support and Ticketing System: Oversee the HRIS support model, including ownership of the HR ticketing system
  • Ensure timely resolution of user issues, root cause analysis, and improvements to reduce recurring issues.
  • Continuous Improvement & Optimization:
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, data quality, and user experience.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to make Workday more effective, including automation, streamlined workflows, improved reporting, and simplified user interfaces.
  • Drive data integrity and global HR process harmonization.
  • Global Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Work closely with regional HR teams, IT, Payroll, and business leaders to understand and align system functionality with local and global requirements.
  • Train HR and business users globally on system capabilities and enhancements.
  • Performance Management Oversight: Lead the configuration and annual cycle of performance reviews and goal setting within Workday. Align tools with broader talent management and organizational development goals.
  • Vendor & Contract Management:
  • Act as the primary liaison with Workday and third-party vendors.
  • Manage vendor contracts, renewals, SLAs, and budget forecasting related to HR systems and tools.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead Workday implementation projects, module rollouts, and upgrades.
  • Define timelines, resources, testing, change management, and communication plans.
  • Compliance and Governance:
  • Ensure compliance with global data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR) and regional labor regulations.
  • Maintain system security, role-based access, and audit readiness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of HRIS experience, with at least 3–5 years in Workday administration in a global setting.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting performance management 
  • cycles within Workday.
  • Experience managing a ticketing/support system for HRIS issues 
  • Proven experience in vendor and contract management
  • including renewals, SLAs, and vendor performance tracking.
  • Strong background in process improvement, automation, and 
  • optimizing system usage.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across different cultures and time zones.
  • Deep knowledge of HR data governance, compliance, and system 
  • security practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday certifications (e.g., Core HCM, Performance, Reporting).
  • Experience with Workday Extend, Prism, or People Analytics.
  • Background in multinational corporations with complex HR structures.
