Technology Director
Salary: Up to £120,000
Location: Oxfordshire
Are you a visionary technology leader with the expertise to drive digital, data, and technology transformation? We are seeking an accomplished Technology Director to lead and shape the data and information strategy for a critical public sector organisation in Oxfordshire.
The Role This high-impact leadership position is responsible for the strategic direction and transformation of data and information capabilities across two large organisations. You will oversee four key teams within the Data & Information Management function, ensuring data is effectively governed, secured, and utilised to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead a department of approximately 60 professionals and manage a budget of £3m, driving a high-performance culture.
- Data Transformation: Define and execute a robust data and information strategy, ensuring governance frameworks align with national and organisational priorities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, translating complex data challenges into actionable business insights.
- Risk & Compliance: Serve as the organisation’s Data Protection Officer (DPO), ensuring full compliance with data regulations and managing relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Innovation & Insights: Drive the use of data for operational effectiveness, predictive analytics, and resource optimisation.
- Change Leadership: Sponsor and lead major transformation programmes to develop cutting-edge data services and embed a data-driven culture.
About You You will be an experienced technology and data leader with a track record of delivering large-scale transformation in complex environments. You will be adept at engaging senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decision-making while ensuring compliance and governance frameworks are upheld.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven expertise in data governance, analytics, and information security within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing sizeable teams and budgets.
- Ability to drive cultural change, embedding a data-first mindset across an organisation.
- Expertise in compliance and risk management related to data protection regulations.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and strategic influencing skills.
